Due to his actions and role, he is a major antagonist in the Elbaph Arc.

Appearance

Saint Killingham is a younger-looking man who possesses a lanky physique and, at least in his partial qilin form, is tall enough to tower over some of his fellow God’s Knights, being at least twice the height of Figarland Shamrock. Killingham’s Human-Beast Form reveals him to have a dark, messy shock of hair at roughly neck length, slanted eyes with prominent lashes, a well-defined nose, and (at least in his Human-Beast Form) sharp fangs for teeth; if the latter are natural or a trait acquired through his qilin powers is as yet unknown. As with most God’s Knights, Killingham dons an ornate military uniform. It consists of a dark, high-collared, double-breasted tunic with two vertical rows of light buttons, which extends halfway down his thighs and is matched with a contrastively light-colored cravat, light-colored gloves that reach below his elbows, as well as pants and knee-high, high-heeled boots for lower wear, both of which are colored dark like said tunic. Over the tunic, Killingham wears a trench coat that is also dark in color, with epaulets and an armband featuring the God’s Knights’ emblem on his left upper arm, pockets at waist level, and a light-colored belt holding it…

Over the tunic, Killingham wears a trench coat that is also dark in color, with epaulets and an armband featuring the God’s Knights’ emblem on his left upper arm, pockets at waist level, and a light-colored belt holding it close. Unlike most of the God’s Knights seen so far, Killingham has the resin bubble common among lower-rank World Nobles around his head, which is fitted with a respirator in the front featuring two disk filters.

Personality

Killingham is a very careless, clumsy man who has trouble with punctuality. He appears to suffer from narcolepsy, tending to fall asleep in inopportune moments and even talking during sleep. As such, he tends to remain rather serene and lethargic when not fretting about his duties as a knight. Killingham tends to be cautious when dealing with powerful enemies, as he was aware of Luffy’s status as an Emperor of the Sea and his reputation, and did not want to unnecessarily break protocol and antagonize Luffy for little reason, scolding Sommers when he suggested taking the Straw Hats as captives. Killingham does prefer to complete missions quickly and rationally as he did not want to stay too long lazing around on Elbaph. Killingham, like several others of his ilk, has little care for the lives of those beneath his holy status, including children, engaging in casual talk with his fellow knights during their plans to kidnap the Walrus School’s students. He generally respects other people’s tastes and does not really judge others for what they enjoy, not matter how peculiar, while not shying away from scolding others for doing so, as he called Sommers out for mocking Gunko’s preferred…

He generally respects other people’s tastes and does not really judge others for what they enjoy, not matter how peculiar, while not shying away from scolding others for doing so, as he called Sommers out for mocking Gunko’s preferred way of listening to music. Though he is less outwardly sadistic compared to Gunko and especially Sommers, he was at one point depicted laughing gleefully as he coerced the giants into burning down their Owl Library. When Imu manifested on Elbaph by possessing Gunko, Killingham showed a far more energetic side of himself, even stating that there was no need to hold back anymore, and sporting a sadistic smile. Like other World Nobles, Killingham enjoys high-class food.

Abilities And Powers

As a World Noble, he has a high degree of political authority, enough to do essentially as he pleases, and is able to summon even an Admiral if he so wishes. However, as he is also a member of the God’s Knights, Killingham is an accomplished combatant and can easily defend himself without the help of an Admiral if he ever runs into trouble. Killingham is powerful enough to defeat multiple giants in combat with little effort.

Devil Fruit

Killingham ate the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to transform into a one-horned, long-necked qilin. Killingham appears to have “awakened” this ability while maintaining his personality, as indicated by the ribbon of flaming smoke around his head and torso when he is transformed. Killingham has the ability to cause other people to fall asleep from a distance, with groups of giant children collapsing all at once and then sleepwalking toward a desired location. He can also manifest the dreams of sleeping individuals, creating delicious-tasting zero-calorie food, and manifesting monsters called MMA, which are far larger than even giants. He can also manifest the dreams of sleeping individuals, creating delicious-tasting zero-calorie food, and manifesting monsters called MMA, which are far larger than even giants. This ability can cause widespread destruction on its own and becomes even deadlier when used in unison with other Devil Fruit abilities such as Sommers’s Iba Iba no Mi abilities to turn his victims into death traps. In his qilin-headed transformation, he is shown to be powerful enough to defeat a veteran giant pirate like Kiba with ease by throwing him hard into the ground.

Abyss

Killingham bears a mark that grants him the ability to use magic circles, known as the Abyss, as a means of transport, having been transported to Elbaph alongside Sommers when summoned by Gunko.

Immortality

According to Jaguar D. Saul, all God’s Knights have a form of immortality, indicating Killingham possesses it.

Haki

Killingham possesses Haki. His arrival on Elbaph was accompanied by a massive burst of Haki which resembled black lightning. His Haki was sensed by Scopper Gaban and described as being abnormal.

Weapons

Killingham wields a strange-looking trident with asymmetric blades. He has yet to be seen using it in battle. He later wielded a bow and arrow, which he used to burn down the Owl Library. He also has been shown using a horn to call upon and command his MMAs

History

Final Saga

Elbaph Arc

Due to the precarious nature of their mission, Shamrock decided that reinforcements would be required, and had Gunko contact Mary Geoise about getting a person ready. Upon landing in a proper location, Gunko created a Magic Circle, summoning Killingham and Shepherd Sommers to Elbaph. Upon arrival, both were oblivious to the fact that they had just been transported, leading to Killingham believing that he was late for duty. The pair eventually realized their mistake, and while Sommers readied himself, Killingham relayed a message to Shamrock about the fact that he had been recalled to Mary Geoise, due to a “dire” situation there. After being briefed on the mission to abduct the Giant children, Killingham reminded his allies that only those with the “mark” could go through the magic circle, meaning that they would have to extract the children manually.

Due to the unique situation, Shamrock conceived the idea that they could make kidnapping the children into a “game” of some sort, using their powers. The God’s Knights quickly got to work at their task, with Killingham using his Devil Fruit powers to put the giant children to sleep, while Gunko directed them with an arrow…

Due to the unique situation, Shamrock conceived the idea that they could make kidnapping the children into a “game” of some sort, using their powers. The God’s Knights quickly got to work at their task, with Killingham using his Devil Fruit powers to put the giant children to sleep, while Gunko directed them with an arrow toward the ships. After coming to, Killingham informed his comrades that his ability would last until the children reached the ships, and pondered if they would be fast enough to make the capture. As they had essentially automated their work from then on, the trio decided to take a break and have a meal. While eating, Sommers and Gunko got into a spat over Sommer’s philosophy about love and death, forcing Killingham to redirect the conversation back into the topic at hand.

Gunko revealed that she had sent the giant children down the central branch of the Tree Adam, and that they would arrive at the village’s coast, where they could then be extracted. When asked about the MMA that he had created, Killingham revealed that they could simply be left to their own devices, and required no further direction from him. After finishing their meal, Gunko began listening to her headphones, which Sommers likened to a ritual. When Sommers attempted to make fun of Gunko for it, Killingham chastised him for insulting what others liked. Not long after, Killingham made his way down to the Walrus School, where he quickly dispatched and defeated the staff, slamming Kiba into the floor, and leaving Ange frozen with sleep paralysis.

Afterward, he located the school’s Dengo Mushi, and prepped it for Sommers to make an announcement to all of Elbaph. In the meantime, Gunko captured a few of the Straw Hats and brought them down to Sommers’ location. Sommers questioned her on if they were to arrest them, but Killingham informed him that they weren’t seeking a fight with Luffy, and they would return without them once they were done. Afterward, Killingham started the broadcast, allowing Sommers to issue his threat to Elbaph: join the World Government, or their children would be killed. As they were no longer trying to hide their presence, Killingham used his ability to awaken the children, yet they continued to walk, as a result of Gunko’s arrow.

He then forced Ange to reveal their names over the broadcast, causing further panic throughout the island. After an excruciating broadcast for Elbaph’s residents, Jarul finally gave in to the demands of the God’s Knights and ordered the Owl Library and Walrus School to be razed. After the remaining children and staff were evacuated, Ange set the school ablaze. Killingham commended her for her success in the destruction of Elbaph’s learning institution, and decided to take care of the Owl Library on his own. Using a bow with a lit arrow, Killingham set the library on fire, laughing as the flames quickly took over the structure.

Not long after, an encounter with Scopper Gaban caused an abnormal reaction in Gunko’s mind, brining Imu’s attention to the island. Killingham was shocked by Imu’s newfound presence. Having possessed Gunko’s body, Imu found themselves faced with a large amount of giants, all attacking at once in order to save their children. When simply using Supreme King Haki wasn’t enough, Imu berated Killingham for the apparent failure of his MMAs at keeping the giants at bay. Killingham nervously reassured his leader that the MMAs were still being produced, and since they were born from children’s minds, who have no concept of death, all of the existing ones could be revived at a moments notice. Sure enough, following Imu’s forced conversion of Dorry, Brogy, and a few of their crewmates into demonic versions of themselves, Killingham revitalized all of his downed MMAs, causing them all to grow significantly larger as well. With no reason to hold back any longer, Killingham transformed into his hybrid form and took to the skies, rallying his MMAs and declaring that Elbaph would be plunged into an eternal nightmare. Killingham ordered the MMAs to rampage as much as they pleased, whilst blaming Elbaph itself for their creation. Moments later, Killingham and Imu received a telepathic communication from Sommers, pondering as to how far they planned to take their assault on the island. Killingham assured him that things were largely in their favor, and that his MMAs would rampage until they destroyed themselves. Before he could continue, Imu chimed in, ordering them to press on until the spirit of Elbaph had been thoroughly shattered.

Trivia

  • The Japanese pronunciation of Killingham’s name (Kiringamu) contains the name of the creature that his Devil Fruit, the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, is based on.
  • Killingham is so far the only “awakened” Zoan user affiliated with the World Government whose ribbon of flaming smoke is light-colored, as opposed to dark.
