Charlotte Family

Linlin kidnaps and marries her husbands solely for conceiving children and having a diverse family and does not care about any of them. She would allow them to stay with her during her term of pregnancy, but after giving birth, she casts them out, stating she has no further use for them. She even permits her children to kill them, considering them as outsiders since they are not related by blood. She even disowned Pound once she gave birth to their twin daughters. Some of her children hold this view about their own fathers and stepfathers as well, and are given permission to kill them, as Cracker received permission to murder Pound due to having no further use for him. Upon seeing Pound on Cacao Island, and despite recognizing him as one of his stepfathers, Oven attacked him and planned to kick him off the island. It was later revealed that since they were separated at the time of birth, Chiffon does not recognize her birth father. However, this view is not shared by all the children, as both Chiffon and Lola embraced their father, Pound, once confirming that he is indeed their father. All of Linlin’s husbands would be given a crown to wear during their short time together, more as an accessory, and once she discards said husband, the crown has no value whatsoever.

Children

Although they appear to be a caring family, Linlin shows little to no concern for her children, as she forces them to marry others without taking their personal choices into consideration. She even refers to one of her sons as a “lowly child of mine” when she believes he was protecting her from an attack. When her anomalous eating disorder acts up, she has been shown to unknowingly commit filicide. She even ridiculed Pudding for her third eye and cruelly told her to grow her bangs out so she wouldn’t have to see it. However, she refused to believe that her eldest son lied to her when Jinbe informed her that the Straw Hats do not possess the cake she craved.

Pudding once claimed that Big Mom would be willing to show leniency towards her children and would not harm them for any recalcitrant behavior. After Pudding’s true nature has been revealed, this can be considered another lie she told to the Sanji Retrieval Team. In fact, none of her children are safe from her wrath, especially when Linlin goes through a craving episode as shown when she removed lifespans from Moscato and Opera during a rampage. Linlin has also shown that should any of her children defy her, she will not hesitate to have them brutally killed. After Lola ran away from the arranged marriage with Loki, Linlin became furious and she promised to send an assassin to kill her once she finds out about Lola’s whereabouts.

She also physically abused Chiffon unreasonably to vent her rage towards Lola due to their strong resemblance as well promising to kill her for taking part in Bege’s plan. She also threatened to kill her oldest son, Perospero, should she discover that he was lying to her about the Straw Hats stealing a spare wedding cake. The children, in return, are terribly frightened of her, and Opera was shown to fear for his life at the consequences for displeasing her. Even the oldest, strongest children fear her, as both Smoothie and Perospero were terrified when Linlin’s eating disorder acted up. After Chiffon was gravely abused, she no longer considers herself as a part of the family nor acknowledges her mother, Big Mom, as a parent and refers to her as a “monster”. So far, both Chiffon and Praline are shown to be disloyal to their mother and they had no objections to Bege’s assassination plot. Chiffon stated that she does not care about Linlin when she was having a craving for wedding cake and Praline even hindered her mother’s crew by enchanting the territorial sea slugs, preventing them from tracking the Straw Hats and the Fire Tank Pirates. After Pudding fell in love with Sanji, she decided to rebel against her mother in secret and help him and his crew escape.

Siblings

The siblings are often seen cooperating with one another in order to complete missions they were assigned to by Big Mom herself, or as a self-assembling army out for revenge for a fallen brother. While most family members are also part of their mother’s pirate crew, it was shown that even those who aren’t also help them from time to time, from marrying in order to increase crew strength to straight-out lookouts for invaders. Many siblings are shown to get along with each other and honorifics are always used by younger siblings when addressing their older siblings. Despite those assistance, some family members were shown to be hateful, deceitful, suspicious, and threatening toward each other. Dolce and Dragée are not fond of Anana and one of the boys even said that he plans to kill her one day.

Brûlée berates her younger sister Chiffon for taking a role in Bege’s assassination plot of killing their mother. Mont-d’Or became enraged when his older brother Opera lied about killing Luffy and Nami in The Prisoner Library to save his own lifespan. After Pudding failed to kill Sanji, Daifuku called her a useless good for nothing and slapped her aside to fight Sanji himself. Oven also did not hesitate to harm Chiffon for her role in Bege’s assassination attempt on their mother and even ignored Pudding’s pleas. When Flampe interfered with Katakuri’s battle against Luffy in an attempt to preserve Katakuri’s perfect status, Katakuri went to her and angrily berated her for her interruption by revealing his teeth, causing her to lose all respect for him as she began to detest him.

Flampe had her subordinates photographed him and threatened to expose his eel-like teeth throughout the entire Totto Land until Katakuri and Luffy use Supreme King Haki to render Flampe and her subordinates unconscious as punishment for their actions. After their failed attempt to kill the Straw Hat Pirates, Praline gleefully laughed and mocked her own siblings for their failure, seriously infuriating Oven and Galette. However, there is genuine love between some of the Charlotte siblings. Opera, Mont-d’Or, and Galette were saddened when Moscato got his lifespan taken by their mother and were later enraged when Cracker was defeated by Luffy. At the wedding, Katakuri saved Brûlée when she was a captive of Caesar Clown and forgave her for being used by Bege and the Straw Hats. He later saved Galette from falling to her death when the Whole Cake Chateau collapsed and protected Mascarpone and Joscarpone from Luffy in the Mirror World. During Big Mom’s rampage after the wedding, Mont-d’Or was shown to be filled with despair after Opera got his lifespan taken by her. After Katakuri was defeated by Luffy, his siblings were all horrified that Big Mom’s most powerful offspring lost to the Straw Hat captain and went into a complete rage trying to avenge him. After the Straw Hats escaped Totto Land, Brûlée help Katakuri by treating his wounds and told him that she loved him for who he was while saying that she would not forgive Luffy for what he did to him. The siblings also have some sort of popularity ranking among themselves, hosted by Flampe. The categories are “Favorite Older Brother”, “Favorite Older Sister”, “Favorite Younger Brother”, and “Favorite Younger Sister”. The rankings are rigged since the participants’ votes are not counted equally and is ultimately something Flampe does for her own selfish amusement.

Lola

Lola has a unique relationship with the rest of her family. While she believed that her mother will treat her friends kindly, the truth is that her mother is out to kill her and would torture them to reveal her whereabouts. Before Lola left her home, she was treated like the rest of her siblings, being arranged to marry the prince of Elbaph’s giants, Loki. However, Lola wanted to choose her own husband and went against her mother’s word. After Lola ran away, Linlin was furious and swore to make her pay and was content with having her die without a shred of care, and treated her twin sister cruelly simply for their resemblance. Similar to how they treat their own fathers and stepfathers, her siblings also seem to look down on her, such as Perospero, Opera, Mont-d’Or, Galette, and Myukuru, who were listening to Big Mom’s conversation with Luffy and Nami. They did not express any concern when Big Mom revealed her hatred for Lola and her intent to kill her. Opera was also content in torturing Nami for Lola’s location. There are a few who remained attached to Lola: Chiffon, her twin sister; Pudding, who idolizes Lola’s choices and culinary skills; and Pound, her biological father who hasn’t seen her since her birth. One of Chiffon’s reason to participate in Bege’s attempt to assassinate Linlin was to protect Lola’s life. When Chiffon tried to ask for mercy from her mother after the plot’s failure, Linlin instead grew infuriated at simply looking at a face so similar to Lola’s, and declared her a traitor to be executed. This made Chiffon’s status in Totto Land and the Charlotte Family the same as her twin sister’s: a rebel facing a death penalty, which Oven later attempted to carry out.

Inlaws

Both known in-laws were shown to respect their wives, and share their crews’ plans with them, even when they are against their spouse’s mother. Their wives, in return, consider themselves, once they are married, no longer obligated to their mother and supported their husbands’ plans. So far, Chiffon and Praline have truly shown to love and care for their husbands very much to the point they would happily abandon their lives with Linlin and leave Totto Land. When the brothers in-law Katakuri and Bege talked before the Tea Party, they were shown to respect each other’s power and position in the Big Mom Pirates, with the former saving two members of the Fire Tank Pirates, and willing to take the blame for the incident in front of the party hall. However, after Bege revealed his treachery, he became a target of all those loyal to Big Mom. Oven even attempted to use his own sister and Bege’s wife, Chiffon, as a hostage to force the Fire Tank Pirates to surrender.

When Loki, the prince of Elbaph, had fallen for the family’s 23rd daughter Lola, Linlin saw it as an opportunity to both put her feud with the giants to an end, and strengthen her power enough to take down the other Emperors. Unknown to Big Mom however, Lola left the family to look for a husband she could marry on her own. Big Mom tried to pass Lola’s twin sister Chiffon as Lola, but Loki was not fooled and the feud between Big Mom and the giants deepened, causing the Emperor to seek their power in a different way. Because of this, Linlin labeled Lola a black sheep of the family and would have sent assassins after her if she could find her whereabouts. and even assaulted Chiffon for their resemblance. The other children, on the other hand, apparently gave up on their dreams of finding a spouse of their own choice. At some point, Big Mom and the patriarch of the Vinsmoke Family agreed to a political alliance. The alliance was to be sealed by a marriage between a member of each family: Sanji, the third son of the Vinsmoke Family, and Pudding, the 35th daughter of the Charlotte Family. The marriage is only held years later as the Vinsmoke Family could not locate Sanji who has been living under a low profile as a Baratie chef.

Thriller Bark Saga

While traveling from the New World into Paradise, Lola and her Rolling Pirates became prisoners on Gecko Moria’s massive ship, Thriller Bark, with their shadows placed inside zombies. Nami befriended Lola’s zombie counterpart while Lola assisted Luffy and the Straw Hats into helping bring down the Warlord of the Sea. Prior to departure, the Rolling Pirates captain gave Nami the Vivre Card of her mother in case they come across any trouble in the New World.

During The Timeskip

After the Summit War of Marineford and Whitebeard’s death, the Sun Pirates became subordinates of the Big Mom Pirates and Fish-Man Island received protection from Charlotte Linlin after Aladine married Charlotte Praline. Sometime during the time skip, both Eustass Kid and Urouge each defeated Sweet Commander Charlotte Snack during their attempts to invade Totto Land. However Charlotte Cracker retaliated and defeated Urouge. Capone Bege also tried to invade Totto Land, but upon his defeat, he agreed to serve under Big Mom, marry Chiffon, and they had a child.

Whole Cake Island Saga

After confirming the Straw Hat’s chef identity as Vinsmoke Sanji and also his background in the Baratie, Bege and Pekoms were tasked to capture both Sanji and Caesar and bring them to Whole Cake Island. Bege presented Sanji the invitation to the wedding and informed him about the consequences if he refused to make an appearance.

Whole Cake Island Arc

The Sun Pirates prepared to flee from Big Mom should Jinbe’s request to leave her crew not go well, and Praline got angry because she thought Aladine was trying to leave her, but he calmed her down and she agreed to go with him anywhere. Praline then told an inquisitive Jinbe that no one who tried to leave her mother has survived. Three days before the wedding, Pudding encountered Luffy’s Sanji Retrieval Team on Cacao Island and spoke with them. She agreed to help them rescue Sanji, as he had told her earlier that although he really wanted to marry her, he could not because he has to return to his friends. Meanwhile, as Big Mom rampaged through Sweet City on Whole Cake Island due her craving for a certain sweet, her sixteenth son, Moscato, attempted to calm her down.

With no rationality due to her cravings, Linlin uses her power to remove Moscato’s lifespan, knocking him unconscious, which shocked Moscato’s siblings Mont-d’Or, Galette, and Opera. The Charlotte matriarch only calmed down once Jinbe gave her what she desired. As Mont-d’Or and some others carried Moscato’s unconscious body away, Big Mom seemingly agreed to let Jinbe leave her, but said that he would have to lose something in return as she pulled out a roulette wheel with pictures of body parts on it. The next day, Brook read a newspaper article stated that Jinbe took back his words of leaving Big Mom’s crew, before Pedro called him after witnessing Pudding in a dress shop in Sweet City. Elsewhere on Whole Cake Island, Bege shot Pekoms off a cliff into shark infested water.

Meanwhile, Big Mom recommissioned Caesar Clown to work on a serum that would turn her family into giants. She gave him two weeks to complete it, or else Perospero would turn him into candy and kill him. When Luffy’s Sanji Retrieval Team (except Brook and Pedro) ventured into the Seducing Woods after arriving at Whole Cake Island, Brûlée and her minions confronted them to hinder their rescue operation. During a scuffle, Brûlée captured Carrot and Chopper, separating the team. After regrouping, Luffy and Nami interrogated Pound, one of Big Mom’s ex-husbands.

As Pound was giving away information, Cracker appeared and confronted the group. Cracker attempted to execute Pound, but Luffy stopped him, initiating a battle with him. Meanwhile, Brûlée and her minions tried to capture Nami, but the homies stopped when Nami took out the Vivre Card Lola gave to her. Brûlée attempted to capture Nami herself, but Pound rescued the latter. Nami then defeated Brûlée with Thunderbolt Tempo.

After an initial struggle, Luffy managed to land a critical hit on Cracker using Kong Gun. As Luffy supposedly shattered Cracker, the real Cracker appeared from what was revealed to be a Biscuit Soldier. The two continued battling for eleven hours, with Luffy eating Cracker’s biscuit creations. Meanwhile, Brûlée chased Chopper and Carrot inside the Mirro-World. Finally, as Cracker rushed in for the kill, Luffy absorbed him into his body with a form known as Tankman, sending Cracker flying out of the Seducing Woods.

The defeated Cracker flew into Sweet City and crashed into the Whole Cake Chateau, shocking Mont-d’Or, Galette, and Opera. The three siblings then marched out along with many other Big Mom Pirates to attack Luffy and Nami, engaging them in battle outside Sweet City. Meanwhile, Big Mom went to meet the Vinsmoke Family for lunch, quelling an argument between Anana and Dolce and Dragée along the way. She and Pudding then met the Vinsmokes, and Pudding spoke to Sanji in private, revealing that she had met his crewmates. However, Sanji had given up on escaping the marriage and decided to marry her.

Outside Sweet City, the army led by the Charlotte Family overwhelmed Luffy and Nami. As they captured the two Straw Hats, they took away the vivre card Nami was carrying. The army then returned to Sweet City with the two Straw Hats in tow. In the Room of Treasure, Smoothie guarded the three Poneglyphs in Big Mom’s possession alongside Tamago. During a conversation with Sanji, Big Mom agreed to allow his friends to leave Whole Cake Island as long as Sanji complied with the wedding.

Mont-d’Or, Opera, Galette, and Perospero then took Luffy and Nami to the Prisoner Library and imprisoned the two inside a book. Big Mom then had a Den Den Mushi discussion with the two of them, warning them not to interfere during the wedding. Upon hearing Nami transmitting to her Lola’s words, she entered a great rage, claiming that Lola’s failed political wedding would have allowed her to gain sufficient power to triumph of all other Emperors, and that by that time, she would have been Pirate King. Opera then stayed in the Prisoner Library in order to watch over them. Afterwards, Big Mom refused to get angry at the Straw Hats, but upon learning Brook had managed to get in the Room of Treasure, she got terribly worried for her Tamatebako and decided to go there herself.

She then broke into the Room of Treasure, destroying the door in the process, and confronted Brook herself. Inside the Mirro-World, Brûlée, having eventually captured both Chopper and Carrot, planned to cook and boil the latter in some stew. However, the Carrot she had captured was actually a frog created by her own powers, and the real Carrot hatched a plan with Chopper to ambush everyone in her house. After carrying it out successfully, the two captured Brûlée and forced her to guide them through Mirro-World. Meanwhile, Pudding came to visit Luffy and Nami in the Prisoner Library.

She revealed to them that she did not intend to marry Sanji, as she planned on shooting him dead during the wedding ceremony. She then left and attacked Vinsmoke Reiju, taking her to her room. Pudding then revealed to Reiju that her mother’s plan since the beginning was to lure all the Germa Kingdom into Whole Cake Island in order to kill the entire Vinsmoke Family and to get her hands on their technology. To fulfill that goal, Pudding, one of Big Mom’s favorites thanks to her acting skills, was only pretending to be in love with Sanji all along. Pudding then showed Reiju the gun that she planned to use to kill the Vinsmoke Family.

It was loaded with candy-jacketed bullets that are able to pierce through iron. After cruelly mocking Sanji, she then erased Reiju’s memories of their little discussion and in place added the memory of a soldier getting hit by a stray bullet, thanks to her Devil Fruit ability. She then ordered her Homies to take her to the nearest infirmary. Meanwhile, Big Mom summoned Zeus and Prometheus as she battled Brook in the Room of Treasure, easily overpowering him. In the Mirro-World, after being tortured by Carrot in order to make her reveal the access of the Chateau, she angrily answered them to ask the mirrors.

In the Prisoner Library, as Charlotte Opera prepared to torture Nami so as to make her reveal Lola’s whereabouts, Jinbe arrived and take him out with a single punch. The three of them then escaped as Opera was laying on the ground, defeated. As Luffy started ravaging the first floor of the Chateau, and upon hearing of Jinbe’s rebellion, Smoothie, trying not to provoke her mother’s wrath, ordered to seal off all corridors leading to the fourth floor and trap Luffy. Big Mom ultimately defeated Brook but found no evidence of him tampering with the Poneglyphs and so kept him as a plaything. Pudding then approached Big Mom, and the two went over their planned assassination of the Vinsmokes in the throne room.

Meanwhile, members of the Charlotte Family and Big Mom Pirates held a meeting to discuss the statuses of the Sanji Retrieval Team, and Opera lied that he had burned Luffy and Nami to death. The others believed this, but Mont-d’Or was suspicious and had guards patrol the Chateau. Big Mom went to sleep, and as she slept, the Sanji Retrieval Team sneaked into her room and managed to snatch Brook from her after a massive amount of effort. Brook then revealed to the team that he had managed to get copies of Big Mom’s Poneglyphs, shocking Brûlée. Later, the Fire Tank Pirates met with the Sanji Retrieval Team to discuss an alliance in order to take down Big Mom, and Chiffon revealed to Nami and Carrot that she was fine with the plan due to Big Mom abusing her.

The two crews formed an alliance and planned to use Brûlée as a key to enter and exit the wedding through Mirro-World. Luffy also forced Brûlée to make several mirror duplicates of him to aid in his entrance to the wedding. With the wedding very close at hand, Praline and the Sun Pirates left Whole Cake Island in order to flee from Big Mom. The Tea Party then began as Perospero guided the guests to the venue, where many Charlotte Family members were in attendance. When a man named Jigra attempted to get into the wedding, Charlotte Katakuri shot him down, having foreseen with advanced Observation Haki that Jigra was planning to assassinate Big Mom.

Big Mom received presents from her guests, which she planned to open along with the Tamatebako after the wedding. The wedding ceremony then began, and Pudding gleefully anticipated shooting Sanji. However, when she revealed her third eye, Sanji complimented it, causing her to break down due to being ostracized for it her whole life. Due to Pudding delaying the plan, Katakuri attempted to shoot Sanji, but to his surprise, Sanji evaded the attack, causing it to accidentally hit the priest who was also trying to attack. As this occurred, many family members wondered if they should continue the plan.

However, several copies of Luffy came flying out of the cake to initiate his alliance’s plan, surprising a majority of them. Amidst the chaos, Sanji carried Pudding to safety as he jumped off the toppling cake. Big Mom became enraged at the cake’s destruction and tried to attack Luffy, but Katakuri intercepted the Straw Hat, knowing he was going after the portrait of Mother Carmel, which would put Big Mom in a crisis and render her weak. Jinbe then arrived and freed Luffy from Katakuri, before confronting Big Mom and officially resigning from her crew. Big Mom attempted to take away his lifespan in return, but was unable to due to Jinbe not fearing her, and so she attacked him with Prometheus instead.

However, in the midst of the chaos, Brook shattered Carmel’s portrait with a hammer. After seeing the destruction of Carmel’s portrait, Big Mom went into a state of confusion on what to be mad about. Pudding attempted to shoot Sanji, but he dodged her shots. She told him that this was her true self and said she lied to countless others like Sanji, but she began to waver when he questioned if she lied to herself. Because of Pudding’s failure to kill Sanji, Daifuku slapped her and took it upon himself to kill Sanji himself and battled the Straw Hat chef.

Oven also battled against Pedro. Meanwhile, Perospero used his ability to detain the Vinsmoke Family and some members of the Charlotte Family point at them with the Walkers. As Judge questioned over Big Mom’s betrayal, Perospero mocked him as the Vinsmokes prepared to face their demise. Katakuri tried to do his best to prevent Luffy from showing Carmel’s destroyed portrait while telling his older brother Perospero to kill the Vinsmokes. He managed to slip past Bege, Pedro, and Jinbe, but Luffy still managed to show Carmel’s damaged portrait to Big Mom again.

Big Mom started her strange scream, immobilizing her children in the process. Bege and his crew then prepared to assassinate Linlin, but the pressure of her scream nullified their weapons. Katakuri made earplugs for his siblings, and they regained their composure as they chased after the enemy alliance. Bege then transformed into a giant human fortress, and the Charlotte Family continued attacking the alliance as they tried to get inside Bege. Some of them attempted to finish their job of killing the Vinsmokes, but were beaten once the Vinsmokes put on their raid suits.

When the enemy alliance all got inside Bege, the Charlotte Family besieged their traitorous crewmate as they immobilized him. Linlin then regained her senses and attacked Bege herself for his betrayal. As she attacked Bege’s fortress, her family lay in wait, and when Bege reverted back to his human form, they immediately opened fire on him, but the attack was quickly countered by the Vinsmoke Family. Linlin attacked the Vinsmokes, but was countered by Luffy and Sanji. As Caesar tried to flee with Bege in tow, Perospero attempted to stop him with a candy wall, but it was shattered by a combined attack from Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji.

Meanwhile, Luffy (in Gear Fourth) briefly clashed with Big Mom before falling back. Judge then charged at Big Mom, but she shattered his spear before striking him down with Zeus’ lightning. As Caesar came close to escaping the venue, Katakuri blocked his path, but Ichiji attacked the Sweet Commander. However, Caesar’s escape was hindered once again by Brûlée. Ultimately, the Charlotte Family overwhelmed Luffy, Sanji, and the Vinsmokes as Linlin prepared to execute them.

At that moment, the Tamatebako dropped to the base of the Whole Cake Chateau and exploded, causing the castle to collapse. As the castle fell, the Straw Hats, Fire Tank Pirates, and the Vinsmokes took advantage of the distraction by using the time to escape, leaving the Charlotte Family to their fate in the toppling castle. However, Streusen used his ability to turn the falling castle into soft cake, saving the Charlottes in the process. As the Charlotte Family prepared to pursue the enemy alliance, Linlin suddenly developed a craving for wedding cake. A majority of the Charlotte Family started reflecting on recent events before they began their plans to pursue the Straw Hats, Fire Tank Pirates, and Germa.

Before they could move out, a fleeing Smoothie appeared telling them to run away as a crazed Linlin went on a rampage through Sweet City, killing Opera in the process. The family realized that Big Mom was suffering a craving for wedding cake. With Streusen out of commission, the family worried over what to do until Perospero diverted her attention to the Straw Hats, falsely telling her that the Straw Hats had taken the cake. Before leaving, Linlin threatened to kill Perospero if he lied. After Linlin left, the family were at a loss on what to do since they could not make another cake within a short amount of time.

Pudding arrived and declared that she would create a new cake for Linlin. She stated that she would have Chiffon help her in making the cake after threatening her into submission. Linlin soon caught with up with the Straw Hats and prepared to attack them. During the pursuit, Linlin fell off Zeus when Nami distracted the cloud homie with thunderclouds. Meanwhile, Mont-d’Or was giving instructions to the Big Mom Pirates throughout Totto Land to keep the Straw Hats and Fire Tank Pirates from escaping.

Brûlée, Daifuku, and Perospero gathered inside the Mirro-World with an army, awaiting further instructions. Katakuri and his soldiers infiltrated the Thousand Sunny, planning to ambush the Straw Hats should they return. Pudding caught up to Bege and asked Chiffon for help, saying that she wanted to stop Big Mom in order to save Sanji and his friends. As Big Mom continued her pursuit, the squadron sent after the Straw Hats caught up and briefly engaged them in combat. As the Straw Hats continued running, Zeus ended up swelling up with storm energy when he ate Nami’s weather egg, and Nami used him to strike Big Mom and her nearby crewmates with a massive lightning bolt.

Chiffon agreed to go with Pudding, saying that she wanted to repay her debt to the Straw Hats for helping Lola. After leaving Bege, Chiffon and Pudding went to the Seducing Woods to locate Sanji. On the Sunny, Perospero assumed that the blast was from Big Mom against the Straw Hats, and the squadron onboard the Sunny confronted Brook and Chopper, who had arrived on the Shark Submerge III. Perospero offered to let the two Straw Hats escape, but the two prepared to fight to reclaim the Sunny. Nami’s attack left Big Mom laying at the bottom of a crater.

However, Big Mom was barely affected and continued to move, eating through the ground as she moved back up. As the team started running again, Pudding and Chiffon approached them. Pudding tried to tell Sanji about their mission to make a cake, but quickly impeded herself with mood swings as she went from being in love with Sanji to wanting to kill him and back. Chiffon took the lead as she petitioned for Sanji to help them make a cake to satiate Big Mom’s eating disorder, and Sanji readily agreed to assist them. Big Mom then got back on her feet and unleashed another devastating attack, and the two groups parted ways with Sanji heading to Cacao Island with Pudding and Chiffon.

To help Sanji’s group get back on the right path to the Thousand Sunny, Pudding used her Devil Fruit powers to send memories flooding into the souls in the homies, allowing the Straw Hats to make it to the coast without trouble. The trio then flew away from Whole Cake Island, passing over the Thousand Sunny. On the Sunny’s deck, Katakuri and Perospero simply stood back and watch as Chopper and Brook fought against the Chess Soldiers. Eventually, Perospero took action and immobilized Brook and Chopper with candy, covering their entire bodies in it as he revealed that they would turn into candy after it seeped into their body and suffocated them within three minutes. Perospero and Katakuri then noticed company coming, and were surprised to see the Straw Hats still alive and still being chased by Big Mom.

Perospero sent a giant candy iron maiden charging at the Straw Hats, but Luffy destroyed it with the fiery heat of Red Hawk before attacking Katakuri. Perospero told Mont-d’Or to surround the coast with Tarte Ships and trapped the Sunny in candy, preventing the Straw Hats from using Coup de Burst. He laughed at their impending doom as Katakuri knocked Luffy down and Big Mom and the Tarte Ships prepared to unleash their attacks on the Sunny. Pedro suddenly raced in to strike him, but Perospero blocked Pedro’s attack and managed to subdue the mink, but Pedro revealed a stash of bombs in his jacket and lit them up, engulfing himself and Perospero in a massive explosion. Thanks to Pedro’s efforts, the candy trapping the Sunny, Brook, and Chopper dissolved, freeing them.

As the team completed their preparations for their getaway, Katakuri made his move and subdued Carrot when she tried to attack him. Meanwhile, Big Mom grabbed onto the Thousand Sunny. Perospero was shown to have survived the explosion but was grievously injured. To ensure that Katakuri would not hinder the Straw Hats’ escape, Luffy grabbed him and Brûlée, who was standing inside a nearby mirror. Luffy then dragged Katakuri into the Mirro-World and the Thousand Sunny successfully escaped Big Mom’s grasp and Whole Cake Island with a Coup de Burst.

Inside the Mirro-World, Brûlée was rendered unconscious and Luffy smashed the mirror leading back to the Sunny. Katakuri and Luffy then prepared to continue their fight. Perospero then aided Big Mom in pursuing the Straw Hats on the seas by creating a candy road for her to walk on. As Sanji, Chiffon, and Pudding approached Cacao Island, the sisters revealed to Sanji about Lola’s former position as the Minister of Chocolate. Inside the Mirro-World, Katakuri continuously overpower Luffy in both speed and power.

Pudding, Chiffon, and Sanji arrived at Cacao Island, where they began baking a substitute cake with the assistance of Whole Cake Island’s 31 most renowned head chefs. Inside the Mirro-World, Katakuri ordered Brûlée to facilitate an assault on the Sunny and set it on fire. Their siblings Mascarpone and Joscarpone came with a mirror leading to the Sunny, and Katakuri thwarted Luffy’s attempts to stop them. Mascarpone and Joscarpone shot flaming arrows into the bathroom and setting it ablaze while Brûlée prepared to lead a massive invasion of the Sunny. Meanwhile, Big Mom created a massive wave to assault the Thousand Sunny.

After the wave attacked, Perospero believed that Big Mom sank the ship and informed his siblings inside the Mirro-World. As Luffy was distancing himself from the nearby Big Mom Pirates, Katakuri further assaulted him and prepared to kill him. Having overheard Luffy’s conversation with his crewmates, Brûlée informed Perospero that the Thousand Sunny was heading for Cacao Island. Katakuri began attacking Luffy with his trident and revealed his Devil Fruit’s awakening. After he wrapped Luffy in mochi, Katakuri foresaw Luffy using Gear Fourth.

On Whole Cake Island, Mont-d’Or lost track of the Straw Hats and the Fire Tank Pirates due to the territorial sea slugs being inactive. At the Germa Kingdom, Charlotte Nusstorte and his pursuit squad were defeated by the Vinsmoke Family. While impersonating Nusstorte, Niji contacted Mont-d’Or and tricked him into believing that Germa 66 had been crushed. Back inside the Mirro-World, Katakuri prevented Luffy from activating his Gear Fourth and buried him under a large pile of mochi. Believing that their battle was finished, Katakuri called his chefs, who brought snacks to him.

He then created a mochi house so he could eat his snacks in private. However, Luffy escaped by eating through the mochi and broke into Katakuri’s house, exposing his face. Furious, Katakuri dispatched his chefs before he resumed brawling with Luffy, who activated Gear Fourth. With Gear Fourth, Luffy gained the upper hand against Katakuri, dealing some damage to the Sweet Commander. However, once Katakuri regained his composure, the battle shifted to his favor.

Oven and his forces arrived at Cacao Island, waiting to ambush the Straw Hats. Upon seeing Pound, Oven attacked him. Pudding, Chiffon, and Sanji remained focus on making the wedding cake, ignoring the commotion outside the factory. Back at Whole Cake Island, the Charlotte Family received a report that Big Mom was attacking Nuts Islands and they heard that the territorial sea slugs went missing. It was revealed that Praline enchanted the sea slugs with her singing voice.

With Luffy losing his advantage, Katakuri resumed overwhelming Luffy. Luffy ran out of time with his Gear Fourth and he retreated from the battle with Katakuri chasing after him. Luffy found Brûlée, grabbed her, and escaped the Mirro-World before Katakuri could catch him. Brûlée and Luffy arrived at Nuts Island. Perospero and Amande tried in vain to dissuade Big Mom from destroying the island, but they spotted Luffy.

Perospero then directed Big Mom’s attention to Luffy, and she began pursuing him. Meanwhile, other members of the Charlotte Family assembled a fleet to go after their enemies once more. Back at the Sweets Factory, Chiffon, Pudding, Sanji, and the other chefs finished baking the cake. They prepared to set sail and add the finishing touches to the cake while on the way to the Thousand Sunny. As Pudding, Chiffon, Sanji (in disguise), and the group of chefs left the factory with the cake, they were met by Oven.

After Pudding told him of her plan, Oven allowed Pudding to pass but attacked Chiffon for her role in Bege’s assassination attempt. As he prepared to finish her off, Pound charged at Oven to protect his daughter, and Sanji took advantage of the attack to slip in and kick Oven in the head right as Pound’s punch was about to land. He rescued Chiffon, but Oven knew Pound was not the one who attacked him as he quickly dispatched his stepfather and confronted Chiffon again on the carriage. Hearing that Bege was heading towards Cacao Island, Oven contacted him and ordered him to surrender at the port if he did not want Chiffon to die. Bege seemingly agreed, but as his ship approached Cacao Island, he shot Oven in the face with an explosive round.

Meanwhile, Luffy hopped from island to island through the Mirro-World while still holding Brûlée captive. Back on Cacao Island, Oven prepared to confront Bege but was surprised when the Nostra Castello moved on land thanks to its tank treads. Sanji used his legs to lift the carriage with the cake and baking team (including Chiffon and Pudding) up in the air, bringing it to Bege’s ship. Oven stood his ground but was run over, and Pound watched as Chiffon reunited with her family while the Nostra Castello returned to the sea. However, Oven quickly recovered and went to the dock, where he attacked Bege’s ship by boiling the ocean.

Pound attacked Oven from behind with a massive wooden club, stopping his attack on Bege’s ship. Oven then turned his attention to Pound, allowing the Nostra Castello to escape as Pound was struck by Oven’s flaming naginata. Having escaped Oven, Sanji, Pudding, and the other chefs began adding decorations to the cake. Meanwhile, Big Mom resumed pursuing the Thousand Sunny along with a fleet of Tarteships. In the Mirro-World, Katakuri was confronted by Luffy again and they clashed once more.

Fleets led by Bavarois, Daifuku, and Smoothie joined up with Big Mom in the pursuit of the Thousand Sunny. As Daifuku prepared to sink the Sunny, Carrot transformed into her Sulong form under the influence of the full moon and single-handedly launched an attack on Daifuku’s crew and destroyed the helm of his ship. Daifuku summoned his genie to attack Carrot, but it instead damaged the ships in his fleet as Carrot evaded its strikes. Bavarois and Perospero grew concerned as Big Mom’s body seemed to become thinner and thinner hours after her craving fit started. Bavarois then told Perospero that Pudding was heading to them with the cake, but she was on Bege’s ship, which caused Perospero to worry about the cake being sabotaged.

After Daifuku’s fleet fell into chaos, Big Mom summoned Zeus and Prometheus back to her and activated Napoleon’s sword form as she flew onto the Sunny. Big Mom then began tearing the Sunny apart, searching for the cake she craved. Jinbe tried telling her that there was no cake on the ship, but she refused to believe him while pointing out that she would have to kill Perospero for lying to her, causing Perospero to be shocked that she remembered her earlier threat towards him. Big Mom then attacked Jinbe with Napoleon and even though he managed to briefly block the attack with his Haki-imbued arms, he was sent flying into the ocean. Big Mom continued damaging the Sunny while Prometheus’ flames set the sails on fire.

Jinbe returned and doused the ship with a water wave, weakening Prometheus, before striking Big Mom with a powerful Fish-Man Karate technique, knocking her off the ship. She was quickly rescued by Zeus and she prepared to slice the Sunny in half. Nami and Brook then worked together to manipulate Zeus into discharging all its power, engulfing Big Mom in a massive blast of lightning. Zeus was captured by the Straw Hats, but Big Mom continued pursuing them on top of Prometheus. Luffy’s fight with Katakuri continued into the night, and Katakuri’s younger sister Charlotte Flampe tried to assist him by having her subordinates snipe at Luffy so that she would be his favorite sister.

Katakuri repeatedly overpowered Luffy, but Luffy kept getting back up, and to Katakuri’s surprise, Luffy occasionally achieved the ability to see into the future. At Bege’s ship, Pudding, Chiffon, Sanji, and the WCI 31 chefs finally completed the substitute wedding cake. As she continued to chase after the Thousand Sunny, Big Mom was close to torching the Sunny with Prometheus in gigantic size. However, Big Mom paused her onslaught when she caught the scent of the cake. The Nostra Castello approached the Thousand Sunny and seeing the cake on Bege’s ship, Big Mom turned her attention to the Fire Tank Pirates.

Pudding took Sanji back to the Sunny after leaving the cake in Bege’s hands. As Big Mom pursued the Nostra Castello, Perospero and Bavarois followed her while Smoothie’s fleet continued pursuing the Straw Hats. Meanwhile, a blockade was formed around Cacao Island and Oven prepared a trap for Luffy. In the Mirro-World, Katakuri tried to quickly end his fight with Luffy. Thanks to Flampe’s interference, Katakuri dealt a devastating blow to him.

As Luffy received more injuries, Flampe and her subordinates laughed at Luffy’s misfortune. Flampe tried to shoot Luffy again with her Silent Blowgun but misses. Noticing Flampe’s meddling, Katakuri stabbed himself and revealed his face to her while berating her for her interference. Distraught at the appearance of Katakuri’s mouth, Flampe began to detest and ridicule him. After Katakuri and Luffy unleashed a blast of Supreme King Haki, causing Flampe and her subordinates to faint, the two resumed their battle.

While Luffy and Katakuri’s fight raged on, Chiffon and the Fire Tank Pirates changed their course to Funwari Island, with Big Mom and her crew following. Pudding and Sanji went ahead to Cacao Island to help Luffy. Smoothie increased in size and attempted to sink the Sunny with an air slash and became frustrated when her attack missed. She was also warned by her sister that she might sink their own ship if she grew any larger. At Cacao Island, more members of the family joined Oven, including former Sweet Commander Snack, and confirmed the disposal of the island’s mirrors.

Luffy activated another version of Gear Fourth called Snakeman, before meeting Katakuri in one final clash. Luffy emerged the victor and as the Straw Hats’ promised rendezvous time on Cacao Island drew near, the Charlotte Family and the forces assembled on the island prepared to ambush Luffy once he exited the Mirro-World. While waiting for Luffy, Sanji told Pudding that they would be parting ways soon and Pudding made one last request. Inside the Mirro-World, Brûlée was captured by Pekoms, who planned to help Luffy escape. Upon exiting the Mirro-World with Luffy, Pekoms used Brûlée as a shield as he transformed into his Sulong form.

However, the Charlotte Family quickly overwhelmed Pekoms. Sanji attempted to escape with Luffy, but they were cornered as well. Their skirmish was interrupted when Germa 66 arrived and attacked the Charlotte Family’s forces. When Brûlée revealed that Katakuri was defeated by Luffy, they were astonished and outraged that their favorite brother lost a fight for the very first time. They continued their efforts to stop Luffy and Sanji, but their attempts were thwarted by the Vinsmokes.

After Luffy and Sanji made it back to the Sunny, Smoothie attempted to bombard the Straw Hats but she was hindered by Judge. The Big Mom Pirates’ fleet was about to surround the Sunny but they were surprised by the unexpected arrival of the Sun Pirates. Meanwhile, Big Mom followed the Fire Tank Pirates to Funwari Island and prepared to eat the cake after they dropped it off. Big Mom ate the cake and it satisfied her craving. Perospero announced to Totto Land that Big Mom’s rampage had come to an end.

As the battle raged on at Cacao Island, the Big Mom Pirates used anti-Germa bullets to injure the Vinsmokes. Oven heated up the sea to overwhelm the Sun Pirates and the Queen Mama Chanter attacked the Thousand Sunny. However, Wadatsumi saved the Sunny by switching it with the Sun Pirates’ ship. As the Straw Hats make their getaway, the Charlotte Family’s forces were held back by the Sun Pirates. Meanwhile, Linlin rushed to Cacao Island after coming back to her senses. The Charlotte Family failed to stop the Straw Hats from escaping. Inside the Mirro-World, Brûlée tended to Katakuri’s wounds. Before the Sun Pirates and Germa 66 could retreat, Linlin arrived at Cacao Island.

Levely Arc

After the battle at Cacao Island, Linlin returned to Whole Cake Island and read the newspaper that glorified Luffy, before swearing revenge against him. Linlin contacted her old crewmate Kaidou and told him she was headed to Wano and warned him not to lay his hands on Luffy as she wanted to kill him herself, but Kaidou also had a personal grudge against Luffy and gave her the same warning before Linlin reminded him of the lifelong debt he owed her.

Wano Country Saga

Wano Country Arc

The Sun Pirates somehow managed to escape Big Mom’s wrath and get out of her territory. Big Mom and several of her children aboard the Queen Mama Chanter tried to invade Wano Country to pursue the Straw Hat Pirates and reclaim Zeus. Big Mom’s intelligence gathering helped them to easily find a route to enter Wano Country using the giant carps to pull their ship to the top of a giant waterfall where the country resides. However, before they managed to reach the top, King of the Beasts Pirates’ All-Stars toppled the ship back to the bottom in his Pteranodon form, causing Big Mom to fall into the sea below. Afterwards, Big Mom washed ashore on Kuri Beach, where she was found by Chopper, Tama, Kiku, and Momonosuke.

Having lost her memories, she forgot even her own identity. Fortunately for Big Mom’s family, the Queen Mama Chanter did not capsize during the fall. On the seas near Wano, the Charlotte children reflected on the current situation. Meanwhile, the amnesiac Linlin journeyed to Udon with Chopper’s group, were the All-Star Queen was able to render Big Mom unconscious and bring her to Kaidou. After Big Mom got her memory back, she and Kaidou decided to put aside their differences and form an alliance to find the One Piece and conquer the world.

Around the same time the Straw Hats and their allies began their large-scale invasion, Big Mom’s offspring once again tried to enter Wano only to be thwarted again, this time by the unexpected arrival of Marco the former first division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. Big Mom’s first-born Perospero was the only one able to make into Wano thanks to his candy constructs and he then proceeded to Onigashima. Big Mom was reunited with Perospero, in the front of the Skull Dome’s entrance and stated that joining forces with Kaidou was her idea, so her son begrudgingly accepted the decision. Just as Perospero was about to use one of his candy arrows to kill Marco, who was held captive by Big Mom, he was attacked by the Minks named Carrot and Wanda in their Sulong forms and Marco was freed. After which Perospero proceeded to defeat the two female warriors, while Big Mom rendezvoused with Kaidou.

Just as Perospero was about to attack Sanji for ruining his mother’s plans during the Tea Party, Nekomamushi forced him outside, then engaged him in battle. After a fierce confrontation, Nekomamushi was able to defeat the Charlotte Family’s eldest son, right around the same time Inuarashi defeated the All-Star Jack. After Onigashima began to rise into the air, Big Mom arrived on top of the Skull Dome and right after Kaido defeated the Nine Red Scabbards. Luffy then made it to the battlefield. To the surprise of both Kaidou and Big Mom, Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Red Roc did sufficient harm to Kaidou and to the two Emperors’ anger Luffy once again declared he would be the next Pirate King.

Though they landed a few hits and caused some significant damage, Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Trafalgar Law, Eustass Kid, and Killer realized that Kaidou and Big Mom were too powerful together and their only chance at winning was if they could separate the two, so they disarmed Big Mom of her special Homies and threw her off the roof. Napoleon and Prometheus manage to save Big Mom from falling into the sea, and she returned to the Skull Dome to hunt down her enemies for revenge. Big Mom then created a new special Homie named Hera to replace Zeus because she was tired of his constant failures lately. After hearing Okobore Town had been destroyed, a rampaging Big Mom punched Page One, knocking him unconscious. Big Mom eventually encountered Law and Kid again, then proceeded to unleash all of her fury upon the two pirate captains.

When Big Mom heard Luffy’s announcement that he would defeat Kaidou she laughed at his claim yet again. As their fight with Big Mom continued, Kid and Law pushed themselves beyond their limits against the ruthless monarch of Totto Land as she decimated everything and everyone in her path. Law and Kid decided that their only option left was for both of them to use their awakened powers that would drain what was left of their stamina. Things looked especially dire when Big Mom used her soul power on herself and exchanged one year of her own lifespan to make herself more powerful, then turn her broken bones into Homies to heal herself. This did not make them falter and with the last of their strength Law and Kid attacked Big Mom with their powerful combo attack of R-ROOM & Silent and Assign & Damned Punk sending her crashing through floor after floor of the Skull Dome. Big Mom also passed through the weapons vault and accidentally set off one of Yamato’s frozen bombs, further injuring herself. As she fell below Big Mom cursed Roger for starting the “Great Pirate Era”, then makes impact on the ground, where she falls victim to another, much larger fiery explosion which finally defeats her. Big Mom’s unconscious body was later seen in a pool of magma; she was then joined by Kaidou after he was defeated by Luffy. This act caused a massive volcanic eruption were Onigashima once was. Meanwhile outside of Wano’s borders the Charlotte siblings apparently attacked the nearby World Government fleet, the details of which are unknown because the transmission was interrupted. In the aftermath of the raid, the citizens of Wano learned of Big Mom’s role in the great battle and as a result she has become a legend in the country called “O-Lin the Great Yōkai”.

Gang Beges Oh My Family

After escaping Big Mom’s territory, the Fire Tank Pirates tried to cross over the Red Line but failed because the Levely was currently in progress. The crew then arrived at Dressrosa, where Chiffon reunited with Lola after the latter was rescued by Gotti from SWORD. As the Fire Tank and Rolling Pirates made their way to the port, they encountered Pound who also managed to escape from Totto Land and was found adrift near Dressrosa by the Tontatta Pirates who then rescued and tended to his injuries and Pound was simply overjoyed seeing the two sisters. After showing a photo of his daughters as infants and displaying unparalleled determination, Pound was able to convince Chiffon and Lola he was indeed their long-lost father and all three joyfully embraced after 26 long years. After the happy reunion, Lola finally accomplished her goal of finding a husband by marrying Gotti. Their wedding took place while they were fleeing from the Marines pursuing them.

Germa 66s Ahh An Emotionless Excursion

After Niji and Yonji were captured, Oven ordered that the two prisoners were to be experimented on by Prim, Kato, Brownie, and Anana. However, before they could begin Reju and Ichiji break into the lab and rescues them both. Despite the Charlotte siblings’ best efforts, Germa 66 and Caesar Clown teamed up and successfully escaped from Totto Land. During Big Mom’s absence Kuzan and Van Augur of the Blackbeard Pirates invaded Totto Land and took Pudding prisoner. Any attempt to save her only resulted in the freezing of several citizens and Big Mom Pirates including Cracker. With that done, the two Titanic Captains returned to the ship they came on with their hostage and left.

Final Saga

Egghead Arc

After news of Big Mom’s defeat spread across the seas, many believed her to be dead including the Blackbeard Pirates who were assigned to guard Pudding. During the battle with the Heart Pirates on Winner Island, Pudding remained defiant while behind bars as the guards boasted about their Admiral Teach’s strength. Smoothie and Mont-d’Or listened to Vegapunk’s world-wide broadcast during the Egghead Incident, while on Whole Cake Island, multiple Big Mom Pirate officers watched and reacted to Vegapunk’s broadcast.
