Appearance

Biblo is a giant, old owl with tired eyes and glasses. Most of its plumage is dark-colored, with only its face and ears lighter and its chest made up of an alternating pattern. Biblo has prominent ear tufts which face downwards, resembling thick eyebrows.

Personality

Little is known about Biblo's personality, as it has only been shown perched in the library and hooting occasionally. Even Jaguar D. Saul does not seem to know much about Biblo beyond its ability.

Abilities And Powers

As chief librarian of the Owl Library, Biblo oversees everything that goes on there.

Devil Fruit

Lilith speculated that Biblo ate the Iku Iku no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows it to gigantify objects that enter its territory. Biblo uses this ability to enlarge the human-sized books that enter its library, rendering them accessible to giants.

History

Past

According to Jaguar D. Saul, Biblo has been around for centuries.

Elbaph Saga

Elbaph Arc

Biblo watched over the Owl Library while Saul showed Robin, Chopper, and Lilith around. Biblo's Devil Fruit ability triggered when Robin entered, enlarging the archaeology book in her hands. Biblo watched them as they subsequently explored the library.

Trivia

Biblia is the Greek and Latin word for "books", and the word "library" in Romance languages incorporates this in their etymology (most spelling it biblioteca while French renders it as bibliothèque). The second half of its name may come from fukuro, the Japanese word for "owl". Biblo is the first canon animal in the series to have eaten a non-Zoan Devil Fruit. Non-canonically, the first animal with a Paramecia ability is Noko.
