Short Summary
Gaban swiftly overpowers Sommers and decapitates the God’s Knight at the shoulders which he does not regenerate from. Ange sets fire to the Walrus School while Killingham sets the Owl Library ablaze. As Gaban prepares to extinguish the blaze, Colon calls out to him, causing Gunko to go after the giant boy. Foreseeing that the attack on his son will be fatal, Gaban surrenders and Gunko strikes him with several arrows, sending him falling into the Underworld. However, Gunko is then overcome by a memory of her past concerning Brook, but as she heads toward him she is suddenly possessed by Imu.
Long Summary
The restrained Straw Hats are amazed that Gaban was able to actually injure Sommers, who screams in pain as Gaban notes he has gotten rusty. Gaban then turns around and charges for Sommers, but Sommers uses his thorns to create a barrier to block Gaban’s attack while he backs up. Sommers asks Gaban why he is in Elbaph but Gaban says he does not want to bore him with the answer. As they fight, Nami tells everyone that she met Gaban at the castle and how even Luffy and Zoro were overwhelmed by his power, and also that he is Colon’s father. Robin identifies Gaban and Jinbe confirms he is considered Roger’s “left-hand”, while Brook wonders why he is even here.
Chopper watches in curiosity that Gaban dealt actual damage to Sommers as Robin offers to aid using her Devil Fruit powers even though she cannot move, but Jinbe warns her not to as Sommers can use thorns of iron, which will make for a bad matchup. Sommers then creates an entire field of thorns for which there is no safe spot to stand, but Gaban swiftly cuts Sommers in half before running of to rescue his son,…

Chopper watches in curiosity that Gaban dealt actual damage to Sommers as Robin offers to aid using her Devil Fruit powers even though she cannot move, but Jinbe warns her not to as Sommers can use thorns of iron, which will make for a bad matchup. Sommers then creates an entire field of thorns for which there is no safe spot to stand, but Gaban swiftly cuts Sommers in half before running of to rescue his son, leaving Sommers impaled on his own thorns. Chopper emerges from Saul’s hair and starts chasing after him to figure out how Gaban was able to hurt Sommers. Back at the school, Ange has reluctantly lit it on fire while Killingham sets fire to the library himself, to everyone else’s sorrow. The giants tell Jarul to not blame himself for his decision as Gunko is informed that the buildings are burning, prompting her to tell Ronja to step backwards.
Ronja, however, starts blaming herself for still being alive that the school and library are now burning, but the other kids and giants try to tell her that it is not. Gaban arrives at Gunko’s position and angrily tells her that she has no right to take away anyone’s culture, history, or even their children. Gunko sees him and says his defiance will mean she will kill the children as they all cheer for him to save them. In his mind, Gaban begs Colon not to say anything about their relationship, but it is all for naught as Colon calls him his father, which Gunko overhears. Quickly, Gunko dodges Gaban’s attack and threatens to kill Colon by driving her arrow sword into his neck.
Gaban figures if he attacks fast enough he can put out the fires and save the children and all of Elbaph, and he yells to Colon to hang on and give him one second to end it all, citing him as a big and strong boy. Colon agrees as Gaban thinks back to the day Colon was born and how he called him the greatest gift he could ever receive. However, Gunko starts driving the tip of her sword into his neck, and Gaban uses his advanced Observation Haki to forsee that he will not be able to save Colon. As such, he drops his axes and surrenders, allowing Gunko to riddle him with her arrows while calling him weak. As Gaban falls off the branch, he apologizes to his son and Elbaph for failing as Colon tearfully calls out to him. Chopper dives off of the branch to go after Gaban. As a result of Colon’s cries, Gunko begins to recall a memory from her past involving Brook back when he was still alive that leaves her shaken. Brook, meanwhile, muses over how similar Gunko looked to someone in his past as the crew try to get him to focus on escaping. Realizing that “Soul King” is Brook, Gunko immediately starts running towards his position, but is stopped by Imu, who communicates with all three of the knights telepathically demanding to know why they are taking so long to recruit the giants because the Holy Land is currently burning and they need the strength of the giants now. As Imu possesses Gunko’s body, they declare they will demonstrate the power of a god.
