Gomon is a man with a thin dark mustache and round eyeglasses. He wears dark baggy pants, an iron helmet and iron cape, bracelets, and shoes made from iron strips.

Personality

Gomon is a sadomasochist who loves torture, mainly inflicting it but also receiving it. He is excited at the prospect of finding the One Piece.

Gomon is heavily armored with an iron cape and helmet.

Gomon wields a whip as his weapon.

Mokuba

Mokuba (モクバ?) is Gomon's beloved horse which he uses as a steed. Seemingly a wooden horse, it is unknown whether it is actually alive or capable of movement. Mokuba (木馬?) literally means "wooden horse".

Gomon and the Endurance Curry Pirates listened to Dr. Vegapunk's speech and were excited when the One Piece was discussed.

Trivia

Gomon was designed by Hiroyuki Takei, the author of Shaman King. The name "Gomon" is derived from the Japanese word for "torture" (拷問, gōmon?), while "Hiro" may be derived from his creator's name. Gomon's attire refers directly to Iron Maiden Jeanne, a character from Shaman King, resembling both her own outfit and the iron maiden that usually encases her.
