Appearance

Summary

Torasaburo was a large blue tiger with black stripes, yellow eyes, and a short tail. Due to Kanjuro's supposed poor drawing skills, it's questionable how much it resembled a tiger, and Kin'emon didn't recognize it as such until he learned its name.

Personality

Summary

Little is known of Torasaburo's personality, but it appeared to be fairly dedicated to its task, climbing up Zunesha's leg despite the difficulty.

Abilities And Powers

Summary

Torasaburo appeared to be fairly strong, and was capable of climbing up to the top of Zunesha with two adult men on its back. However, this was the full extent of its strength, and Torasaburo was visibly weezing when it reached the top.

History

Whole Cake Island Saga

Zou Arc

After Nekozaemon melted in Zou's eruption rain, Kanjuro drew Torasaburo to carry himself, Kin'emon, and Bariete up Zunesha's leg. Torasaburo climbed throughout the night, and was eventually able to reach the surface, where it saw off its passengers. After they left, Torasaburo faded away, returning to a painting right above where Ryunosuke faded.

Trivia

Summary

Torasaburo's name literally means "tiger third son", as "Tora" (虎?) means "tiger" and "Saburo" (三郎, Saburō?) means "third son". The name references both its species and its role as the third drawing Kanjuro made to climb Zunesha. In the 7th popularity poll, Torasaburo was ranked 689th. As noted by Greg on the official One Piece website, Torasaburo's resting place next to Ryunosuke may be a reference to traditional Japanese artwork depicting tigers and dragons.
