Totto Land

These outposts called “Tartes” are located at or near the coasts of Totto Land’s islands. They are battleships in the shape of confectionery tarts, hence their names, and they compose the majority of Big Mom’s fleet. Any unauthorized ships sighted by them are immediately shot down. Territorial sea slugs are scattered across the immediate sea, and send out warning signals to Den Den Mushi to warn visitors and alert whatever Tarteship is within reach. When called upon, Tartes can leave their designated posts and join battles at the behest of the Big Mom Pirates. Several of them were destroyed by Daifuku’s genie when it attempted to kill Carrot.

In the past two years, the Kid Pirates, On Air Pirates, Fire Tank Pirates, and Fallen Monk Pirates of the Worst Generation attempted to invade it, though the former two crews were quickly forced to flee and the Fire Tank Pirates became subservient to Big Mom. Urouge of the Fallen Monk Pirates managed to take down one of Big Mom’s Three Sweet Commanders, causing Big Mom to send her fleet after him. Urouge was defeated by another Sweet Commander in Charlotte Cracker, though managed to escape from Totto Land whilst being presumed dead.

Whole Cake Island Saga

The Straw Hat Pirates came to Totto Land to rescue their crewmate Sanji from an arranged marriage with the Charlotte Family. Although they attempted to be covert, Big Mom immediately knew they had arrived. Around the same time, Sanji’s relatives in the Vinsmoke Family came to Totto Land to meet with Big Mom. Big Mom allowed the Straw Hats to make it all the way to Whole Cake Island without attacking them in order to trap them in the Seducing Woods. Two days later, the wedding between Sanji and Charlotte Pudding was held atop the Whole Cake Chateau.

However, it was disrupted when Capone Bege and the Straw Hats arrived to assassinate Big Mom. The Straw Hats, Fire Tank Pirates, and Vinsmokes managed to escape from the wedding venue, and made plans to escape from Totto Land as the Big Mom Pirates chased after them. However, Big Mom began having a craving for wedding cake and went on a mindless rampage after the Straw Hats to get it from them. As Sanji went to Cacao Island to work with Pudding and Charlotte Chiffon to make a new wedding cake, the Straw Hats were besieged at the coast of Whole Cake Island. However, they were able to escape when Pedro blew himself up to overwhelm the enemy.

When this happened, Monkey D. Luffy pulled Charlotte Katakuri into the Mirro-World to keep him away from his crew. Big Mom continued chasing the Straw Hats across the sea, but assumed them to have died after attacking their ship with a massive wave. She then decided to start looking for the cake on Nuts Island, and rampaged there until it was left utterly destroyed. Big Mom then encountered the Straw Hats again as they both headed to Cacao Island, and the Fire Tank Pirates picked up the finished cake from Cacao Island to feed it to Big Mom. Bege’s crew arrived right as Big Mom was on the verge of destroying the Straw Hats and their ship, and led Big Mom to Funwari Island where she ate the cake and regained her senses. The Straw Hats continued heading for Cacao Island to retrieve Luffy, and the Vinsmoke Family and Sun Pirates arrived to help him escape from an ambush from the Big Mom Pirates. The Vinsmokes and Sun Pirates were able to take on the Big Mom Pirates’ massive army and fleet to help the Straw Hats escape Totto Land, though once the Straw Hats made it out, the two groups were then confronted by Big Mom herself.
