Introduction

Udon is a region located at the southeast of Wano Country. Prior to Shogun Kurozumi Orochi’s takeover, the region was ruled by the Uzuki Family. Once they were removed from power and the Beasts Pirates began their occupation, the All-Star Queen became Udon’s ruler and transformed it into an industrialized region of weapon factories where the lower-class are forced to work to exhaustion and death. After the Beasts Pirates’ fall from power, Raizo became the daimyo of Udon. Udon is a region located at the southeast of Wano Country. Layout And Locations

During Kaidou’s occupation, Udon was mostly a wasteland with weapon factories primarily staffed through slave labor. Previously, the region was covered in a thick forest, though it burned down a fight between the Beasts Pirates and Kouzuki Oden and his retainers. It has since begun to regrow due to Admiral Ryokugyu’s arrival and his Mori Mori no Mi abilities. Additionally, the Admiral destroyed the Prisoner Mine.

Tokage Port

Tokage Port (常影(トカゲ)港, Tokage Minato?) is Udon’s port and one of six in Wano. It was set to be the backup meeting place for the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance. On the night before their planned attack, the port was seemingly attacked and was left in ruins. However, Kin’emon misread the message, so only the Scabbards, Momonosuke, and Shinobu went there as everyone went to the correct port. The ships that were destroyed were spares. The port’s name contains the kanji for “eternal” (常?) and “shadow” (影?). Tokage (蜥蜴, トカゲ?) is also the Japanese word for “lizard”, thus the port is represented as a lizard.

Udon Castle

Whos-whos Base

After the Beast Pirates’ fall from power, Who’s-Who built a base located in the forest region of Udon. The base is built in Wano Country architecture, featuring a stone lantern and a torii in front of a larger building. The roof of the building features a statue shaped like Who’s-Who’s head in his saber-toothed tiger beast form.

History

Past

The Battle For Wano

Twenty years ago, after Kouzuki Oden lost his patience with Shogun Kurozumi Orochi’s heinous acts, he gathered his retainers to take Orochi down. Their first stop was Onigashima, where they planned on taking out Kaidou, but they were confronted by him and his crew on the way. Unwilling to stand back, Oden launched forward, attacking the massive army with his retainers. While Oden charged at Kaidou, the Scabbards fought off the crew, who outnumbered them a hundred to one. After a fierce battle, during which the untouchable Kaidou suffered a grave injury, Kurozumi Higurashi transformed into Oden’s son, Momonosuke, and distracted Oden long enough for Kaidou to strike him from behind. Soon after Oden and his retainers fell, they were imprisoned in the Flower Capital. Sometime during the battle, a fire broke out and set the forest that was the battleground aflame for five days before the rain put it out.

The Kouzuki Downfall

Following Oden’s execution, the four remaining daimyo rebelled but were defeated. Control of Udon passed to the All-Star Queen, and the region was converted into a series of weapon factories which served as a labor camp, where all of Orochi’s…

Following Oden’s execution, the four remaining daimyo rebelled but were defeated. Control of Udon passed to the All-Star Queen, and the region was converted into a series of weapon factories which served as a labor camp, where all of Orochi’s dissidents who openly rebelled against him were imprisoned and sentenced to harsh penal labor for life. Among them were the yakuza bosses, including Hyougoro the most influential yakuza himself. Thirteen years ago, Kawamatsu was captured and imprisoned here. Unlike his fellow prisoners, Kawamatsu was not sentenced to harsh labor and was simply tightly tied up in his cell due to his immense fighting prowess which was deemed a significant threat. The Beasts Pirates tried to weaken Kawamatsu into submission by feeding him poisoned fish daily but to no avail.

Eustass Kid and Monkey D. Luffy were later imprisoned in Udon. Raizo infiltrated Udon to liberate Luffy and coincidentally discovered Kawamatsu in his cell. After recruiting Caribou whose Numa Numa no Mi was a useful asset, Raizo secretly approached Hyougoro and informed the latter of the upcoming revolution planned by Kin’emon. Extremely happy to learn that the Kouzuki Revolution was still possible with the Nine Red Scabbards and Kouzuki Momonosuke being alive, Hyougoro explained to Raizo of the immense numbers of potential allies they could gain by recruiting all his fellow prisoners.

Later, at Tama’s idea, an amnesiac Big Mom was manipulated into invading Udon, much to the shock of Queen and the Beast Pirates stationed in Udon. As Caribou cut off Udon’s communications, Big Mom rampaged in Udon in search of oshiruko. She was later subdued and personally escorted by Queen to Onigashima, leaving behind a liberated Luffy, who managed to convince all of Udon’s prisoners to rise up and fight against the oppression of the Beast Pirates. After Udon was conquered and turned into a base of operation for the Kouzuki Family’s revolution, Tama tamed Babanuki and had him give a false report to Queen to avoid any suspicion. Over the next couple of days, while the liberated prisoners prepare for the strike against the Beasts Pirates, Luffy used the time and space to train and master his new Haki technique. On the day of the Fire Festival, Momonosuke’s group reached Tokage Port to find it in ruins, and their allies missing. This was the result of Orochi’s plan to foil their plot, and destroyed all access to Udon. However, Orochi acted too late as the rebel forces had already gathered at the wharf of Habu Port. A week after the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance’s raid on Onigashima, Admiral Ryokugyu arrived at Wano and made a quick stop in Udon. He attacked remnants of the Beasts Pirates at the Prisoner Mine and easily defeated them before marching toward the Flower Capital. Ryokugyu’s brief stay had caused the plant life to regrow in the region curtesy of his Mori Mori no Mi abilities.

Final Saga

Oni Child Yamatos Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage

During the reconstruction of Udon Castle, Yamato, Tama and Speed arrived pursuing the person who stole the late Shimotsuki Yasuie’s sword. After Tama easily subdued Holed’em when he tried to rob Yamato’s group, they were led to a mysterious base deep within Udon. It was revealed that the base was built by and belonged to Who’s-Who after he managed to elude capture following Kaidou’s downfall. Yamato swiftly defeated Who’s-Who and freed all of his hostages.
